Malcolm MacDougall

MacDougall’s work transcends the physical. Led by the desire to capture the potential for movement in the objects around us and influenced by the world as seen through the lens of the microscope, Macdougall creates sculpture which leads the imagination to touch the sublime.

Macdougall has seen two large scale works on display in NY City: “Conflicts of Growth” at Spring & Varrick in 2013 and “Microscopic Landscape” at Union Square Park in 2012. Said of his 2013 piece, Microscopic Landscape, It “is about potential energy and pushing a stagnant object as close to perceived movement as possible.”

Locally, his sculptures, “Outcrops of Bacterial Growth” and “Eternal Conflicts of Growth” were displayed in Wagner Park and Kinally Cove of Hastings-on-Hudson respectively.

Learn more about MacDougall’s work and meet the artist at a special Artist Conversation on Sunday October 17. Details and tickets: https://riverarts.org/event/artist-conversation-with-malcolm-d-macdougall/
